How My Own Life Coach Put Me Back On The Spiritual Path

In my late twenties, on paper, my life looked successful. I had a good career and a lot to be grateful for. But inside, something was missing.

I had walked away from the Catholic faith I grew up in. After surviving a plane crash when I was 19, I had questioned everything, including God, and I wasn’t sure what I believed anymore. Then a relationship ended, and the quiet that followed made it impossible to ignore how unfulfilled I felt. I was down, and I knew I needed help. I just didn’t know what kind.

Then my ex-girlfriend called. She told me about a life coach she had met and how much she was helping her. Something inside me lit up. I didn’t stop to think it over. I asked for the coach’s information.

Learning I didn’t have to carry it alone

Working with my coach, I learned something that changed everything: I didn’t have to keep my pain locked inside. I could let it out through talking, through the homework she gave me, and through simply being heard.

Then I learned it was okay to ask for help. For some reason, that is what broke me open. I had spent so long being the capable one, the successful one, the one who figured things out alone. Letting that go felt like exhaling for the first time in years.

Something else surfaced in those sessions, and it surprised me. I was hungry for a relationship with God again. My coach never told me what to believe. She gave me permission to explore that hunger in whatever way I wanted.

Exploring everything

So I did. I explored Buddhism, Hinduism, New Age practices, and other Christian paths. I was curious and open, and I’m grateful I had the freedom to follow that curiosity without judgment. Every path taught me something, and I still carry that welcome with me today.

The mirror

What transformed me wasn’t a teaching or a practice. It was a quiet moment.

One day I looked at myself in the mirror, which had always been hard for me to do. I asked God to forgive me and told Him I wanted Him back in my life.

I broke down crying. But in the same moment, I felt a tremendous wave of love wash over me, and a weight I had been carrying lift off my shoulders. I had been trying to find my way back to God for so long, and He had never gone anywhere.

Lighter, happier, freer

After that, it felt as though a dark cloud that had hung over my head for years had finally moved on. I felt lighter, happier, and freer.

About six months into being coached, I enrolled in coach training myself. I wanted to offer others what had been given to me: a safe place to let the pain out, permission to ask for help, and room to find their own way to God.

If you’re where I once was

If you’re successful on the outside but longing for something deeper, if you’ve walked away from your faith or aren’t sure what you believe, or if you’re simply tired of figuring it all out alone, you don’t have to do it alone. You’re welcome here, exactly as you are.

When you’re ready, I’d be honored to walk with you. Book a session
